We're here to help you find your workout partner.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find a workout partner?
Set your home gym during onboarding or in the Gyms tab. Then go to Discover — you'll see other GymBuddy members at your gym. Swipe right to connect. When both of you swipe right, it's a match and you can message each other.
How does location work?
GymBuddy requests your location (while using the app only) to find gyms near you. Location is completely optional — you can always search for your gym by name instead. We never use your location in the background.
How do I report or block someone?
Tap the ⋮ menu on any profile, in a Discover card, or inside a chat thread. Choose "Report" to flag a user to our moderation team, or "Block" to remove them from your experience immediately. Reports are reviewed by our team.
How do I delete my account?
Go to Profile → Delete Account, type DELETE to confirm, and your account is permanently removed. Alternatively, use our
web account deletion page. All your data is deleted immediately and cannot be recovered.
My match or messages disappeared. What happened?
If a match disappears, the other user may have unmatched or blocked you. If you're missing messages, try signing out and back in. If the issue persists, contact us.
How do I change my home gym?
Go to the Gyms tab and tap "Change Home Gym." You can search by name or enable location to see nearby gyms. Your Discover feed updates immediately.
Is GymBuddy free?
Yes. GymBuddy is completely free to download and use.
Does GymBuddy show ads?
No — the GymBuddy app shows no ads anywhere, and we never sell your data. Our website at gymbuddyapp.org does use one advertising measurement tool (the Meta Pixel) so we can see which ads bring people to GymBuddy. It does not run inside the app, and you can switch it off — see
Section 5 of our Privacy Policy.

Fitness & Health
GymBuddy helps you find workout partners — it is not a medical, healthcare, or personal-training service and does not provide medical or fitness advice. You are responsible for your own workouts. Consult a physician before starting a new fitness program, and in an emergency contact your local emergency services.
